Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Soldiers Group

Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and sinister influences growing in strength within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the team understands precisely where to go next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

Casimir then paid off his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
  • Kattigan knows Timmony and advises that it is a hostile environment.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could help the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The rogue and The character are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in quest for Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

From episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Planners tables.

Fans can anticipate finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
